Self Hypnosis for Self Esteem

Hypnotizing yourself to raise your self esteem

Self esteem is critical in the lives of most people on this planet.
Without confidence, success can seldom be achieved and often creates feelings of alienation from society.
Self esteem and happiness recognised as being closely linked, thus survival is much harder without it.

Confidence can be grown by taking the time to improve ones-self and work on self esteem, resulting in a better person.
While there are many ways of improving self esteem, a very effective way is through Self Esteem Hypnosis.

What Is Self Esteem Hypnosis?

Self Esteem hypnosis is similar to meditation.
Self Hypnosis is easy, simple, natural, and can be fun.
It is considered to be an expert tool for the raising of self esteem and is a powerful and effective tool to use when dealing with negative, “down” days.

Here is a Quick Self Esteem Hypnosis Technique that should be useful.

Breathe slowly and deeply. Relax. Slow down your mind and your body.
Think of positive thoughts that you can focus on, ie find that “Happy Place”.
After you are comfortable that you have found your happy place, and can quickly revert back to it when you want to, bring up the negative memories that disturb or annoy you and that you may wish to rid yourself of.

See yourself in that negative situation, but this time rather than seeing yourself as you were, see yourself as the person you’d like to become in that situation.
Think their thoughts. Feel their feelings.
Continue to breathe deeply.

The purpose of thinking about this situation in this way is to gradually “re-associate” positive feelings with past negative events. By doing this, you’re converting your subconscious mind (and thus yourself) into the person you want to be. (your subconscious cannot tell the difference between what is real & what is imagined. Present a situation to it (ie imagine) numerous times and it will be like that’s how it was or will be.)

By pre-deciding how you want to respond, think, and feel in the future, in different situations, you empower yourself. This is a very powerful tool when used consistently and persistently as it conditions your mind to a particular course of action or response.

Other Uses Of Self Esteem Hypnosis

Hypnosis can be used for changing numerous other issues.

For example hypnosis can be used to quit smoking and drinking. By developing a new positive attitude, these crotcheswill no longer be required.

Self Esteem Hypnosis really is one of those power tools that you should take advantage of.
When used wisely to it will gradually improve confidence and self esteem, remove bad habits such as smoking and drinking, and allow a better fit in society.

What is Self Esteem ?

Self esteem is the belief in your worth or value.

Low self esteem is the belief that you are worthless or inadequate.

eg. If someone is abused as a child (physical beating or sexual abuse) they may be are more likely to suffer unrealistic low self esteem as adults.
This is because in their minds is a there has been a constant repetition that they are of little value or just an object to be used.
The Canadian Mental Health Association expresses it quite well in the following article

Self Esteem

Self-esteem has become a trendy term often referred to in many health and self-improvement magazines and books with good reason.
Self-esteem is the most important principle which determines a person’s mental health.
As important as it is, self-esteem is not well understood outside the mental health field.

Self-esteem is feeling competent and capable to deal with life’s challenges and being worthy of happiness.

There are two components to self-esteem: self-efficacy and self-respect.

Self Efficacy

Self-efficacy means that there is a trust in your mental processes and abilities.
It does not mean that you believe you will never make an error, but rather that when you do make mistakes you can learn from them.
It is deeper than confidence in a specific knowledge or skill.
If we are lacking in self-efficacy then we would expect to fail at everything we try, and feel unable to make decisions.

Self-efficacy is nurtured in a rational, predictable home environment where we grow to understand what is around us.

Self Respect

Self-respect is a belief that you have an inherent value and that you will have friendship, love and happiness.
It is our realization that we deserve the respect of others, that our well-being is worth acting to support, protect and nurture.

We can only have self-respect as adults if we were treated with respect by parents and family members as children.
Self-efficacy and self-respect are both necessary to healthy self-esteem. No matter what achievements a person has accomplished, if they feel unworthy of the love and respect of others, they do not have self-esteem.

Self-esteem cannot be considered in isolation, however. It is dependent on social, psychological, physical, and economic factors. Therefore, a holistic approach to improving self-esteem, addressing family, school/work and community, will be much more effective in the long run than an individual approach.
